Questions about plumber

What information helps a plumber understand a leak?

Describe where the water appears, when you noticed it and which fittings are nearby. Photos of the affected area and any visible pipework can help explain the problem.

Can I post a plumbing job to replace a tap I have bought?

Yes. Include the tap details and photos of the existing fitting. Ask the plumber to confirm that the replacement is suitable and whether any other parts are needed.

Does plumbing experience also cover gas appliances?

Not necessarily. Gas work needs the appropriate Gas Safe registration. Check the person’s registration and that it covers the appliance and work before agreeing a gas job.
