How Wee Bucks are designed to make local leads fairer

Wee Bucks are the platform credits tradespeople and helpers use to unlock suitable local jobs on PAYG. The aim is to make showing interest clearer: you see useful job details, decide whether the work suits you and understand when credits are held, released or consumed. A hold is not a promise that a customer will choose you.

WeeJobs is live in Causeway Coast and Glens. Customers post jobs free, and approved tradespeople who cover the area can show interest. The customer chooses who suits the work. That choice matters because showing interest and being booked are different stages, with different consequences for your Wee Bucks balance.

What happens on PAYG

The current PAYG unlock is £3 of Wee Bucks. For saved-card bookings, it is spent when a service provider is chosen to quote. It is returned if the customer cancels before accepting a quote. It stays spent if the service provider passes or the customer declines their quote. Other holds are released according to the flow shown in the app. Read the Wee Bucks terms before unlocking.

A released hold is not a cash refund. It makes those credits available to use in WeeJobs again. Purchased Wee Bucks cannot be transferred or withdrawn for cash. They are normally non-refundable, subject to mandatory legal rights, and unused credits are forfeited if you delete your account. Read the Wee Bucks terms before buying.

A worked example of a hold

Here is an illustration of the published rules, not a report of real customers or earnings. You find a job that suits your trade and area, and place the £3 hold to show interest. While the customer decides, that amount is held rather than available for another unlock.

For a saved-card booking, the £3 is spent when you are chosen to quote. It returns if the customer cancels before accepting a quote, but stays spent if you pass or the customer declines your quote. Other holds follow the flow shown in the app. None of these outcomes means you have been paid for the work. Customer payments are separate from the credits used to express interest.

How PRO differs

PRO is optional. The current price is £89 every four weeks, not every calendar month, and it renews automatically until cancelled. While active, it includes unlimited standard job unlocks and a 4% platform fee on completed-job payments. PAYG has a 10% platform fee on completed-job payments. These are different charges from the PAYG unlock itself.

The PRO membership terms explain renewal, cancellation and fair use. Priority-placement or badge features are included only when the purchase screen says they are available. Check the current screen before subscribing rather than assuming every possible feature is included. Cancelling renewal normally leaves PRO active until the end of the paid period.

Choose a plan around your own work

There is no promise of a number or value of jobs under either plan. Start with the work you can actually do, where you travel and your available diary. A plan that suits one provider may not suit another. Read the displayed prices and rules rather than relying on a general claim that a subscription will pay for itself.

• Read the description and photos before showing interest.
• Check that the area, skills and likely timing suit you.
• Ask for clarification where the scope is uncertain.
• Keep your profile and work photos accurate so customers can make an informed choice.

Keep credits and job payments separate

Customer payments are processed by Stripe. Wee Bucks are credits for the provider's use of the platform, not money held for a customer job. A credit release does not decide a customer's cancellation refund, and a completed job does not turn your remaining credits into cash. The relevant payment and cancellation rules still apply separately.
